HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PURE SILVER JEWELLERY

Most Rico Designs pieces are pure silver at 99.9% this is the purest form of silver available (higher than sterling silver 92.5%). This silver is much, much slower to tarnish than sterling silver and can easily be worn in the water. I find the ocean and shower keeps the silver nice and clean. (Avoid harsh chemicals like chlorine found in swimming pools, spas or cleaning chemicals). With constant wear, I never need to clean my jewellery. If you haven’t worn your jewellery for a while, it may require a quick clean either with a silver polishing cloth or in hot mild soapy water. Product descriptions will state if an item is pure silver or sterling silver

Pure silver is a non-reactive metal, which means it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction for sensitive individuals.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR STERLING SILVER JEWELLERY

Sterling silver (92.5%  pure silver content) Sterling silver has less silver content than pure silver does and a mixture of other metals including copper make up the final %. This copper content is the reason why sterling silver tends to tarnish – over time copper reacts to oxygen and releases oxidation on the surface of the material. This can be cleaned and can also be prevented with proper care. Sterling silver can be worn in the water however, water can cause sterling silver to oxidise (darken) more quickly. The chemicals in the water will also have an impact on how fast sterling silver will tarnish. This oxidisation can be cleaned. To clean your sterling silver jewellery simply use a mild soap and water solution and soft tooth brush. Pat dry with a soft cloth. A silver polishing cloth also works well.

When you are not wearing your silver, store it in a cool, dry place, inside a tarnish-preventive / zip lock bag or wrapped inside a soft piece of felt cloth.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW RICO DESIGNS PURCHASE?

A note to the wearer to make your Rico Designs last….

Each Rico Designs piece is threaded and knotted at the hand of Richelle to adorn the wearer.
These handmade treasures need to be treated with love and care. They are water resistant but not waterproof. While the pure silver wont be harmed, with continuous exposure to water, materials used such as cord and elastic to string the silver  are not invincible and will slowly wear and stretch over time. Constant exposure to water will slowly lessen the lifespan of your Rico Designs jewels. In the case of restringing, please see ‘repairs’ to arrange to send back for remaking.

In the event of repairs, if silver pieces are missing, there will be a slight charge per gram to cover silver that needs to be added in.

DO YOU OFFER RETURNS OR EXCHANGES?

At no time does Rico Designs offer refunds. If incorrect size is selected, you may return for an exchange. If your size is not available then a credit note will be issued. All items are made to order so Rico Designs does not offer exchanges  in the case of ‘change of mind’ so please choose carefully.

DEFECTIVE ITEM RETURN/EXCHANGES:

Rico Designs will accept the return of defective items for a repair or exchange up to 6 weeks from the receipt of delivery. (Please check FAQS for what is not deemed as a manufacturing fault here). If an exchange size is not available then a credit note will be issued. In the event of a defective item please contact Richelle at [email protected]

Customers will be responsible for shipping and handling charges to return the item if not deemed a manufacturing fault or if outside the 6 week warranty period. Please read more about how to return or exchange an item HERE

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY ORDER?

Please note that there are shipping may experience extended delays due to COVID-19. Rico Designs can take no responsibility for these and your patience is appreciated during this time.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING (WITHIN AUSTRALIA) – Please select between express or regular post delivery option. Express within Sydney metropolitan areas typically ships next business and 2 days else where in Australia day. Regular post delivery is 2-3 days within metropolitan NSW, or 2-4 days elsewhere within Australia. Please allow Rico Designs 1-5 business days to make and ship your order.

WORLDWIDE SHIPPING – Delivery between 10-12 business days (shipping may take longer to some countries, so please be patient. Shipping at times have taken up to 1 month). Please allow Rico Designs 1-5 business days to ship your order. If you need your order quickly, please email Richelle for a quote for expedited shipping.

LOST IN TRANSIT

If a parcel has not arrived by its estimated time frame as set on the Australia Post website, please contact Richelle at [email protected] for parcel tracking. If Richelle believes the item should have arrived within that time period or if tracking is displaying strange updates on the Australian Post website, then Richelle will call Australia Post to lodge and an investigation. In the event that Australia Posts launches an investigation, no decision will be made until Australia Post has completed their investigation. Please note: replacement items can not be sent out before an enquiry is settled with Australia Post. This time frame is out of Rico Designs control. As soon as a solution is offered by Australia Post, Richelle will be in contact with you.

Rico designs will only replace lost orders providing the order is proved lost in transit by Australia Post. If a customer has given authority for their order to be left unattended at their delivery address and then the order goes missing Rico Designs will not replace this order. Rico Designs does not offer refunds if an item is deemed lost by Australia Post, a replacement item will be issued or if the item is out of stock, a credit note provided. If an item is tracking as ‘delivered’ and the customer is saying that they have not received the item, Rico Designs can not take any responsibility. It is up to the customer to launch a police investigation for a stolen item.

Delivery times provided by Rico Designs are estimates only. Rico Designs will not be held accountable for late deliveries.

HOW CAN I TRACK MY ORDER?

DOMESTIC SHIPPING – You will receive an automated email letting you know that your order has shipped along with an Australian Post Registered Post tracking number. (Please check your junk mail folder as this email sometimes ends up there). You will be able to track your item on the Australia Post website here.

WORLDWIDE SHIPPING – Sent with Regular registered Australia Post. AUSPOST will send you emails with tracking updates. (when an item is lodged, arrived in your country and finally when the item has left left customs). This is the cheapest possible method, if you would like a signature on delivery please contact Richelle at [email protected] to arrange payment of $5 for the extra add on. If you have an issue with tracking, please contact your local courier to clear up any questions. Please do not contact Rico Designs about your order unless it has been more than 20 business days since your order was lodged. WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR CUSTOMS OR IMPORT TAXES?

All international customers are responsible for the customs rates within their own country and returns will not be accepted if you decide you do not wish to pay your countries custom rates. For further information, please contact your local customs office. Rico Designs will declare FULL $ value on international shipments. Unfortunately Rico Designs CAN NOT put a lower value on the parcel.

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Rico Designs accepts credit card payments,  PAYPAL, Afterpay and ZipPay. Please note that you can pay with your credit card using PAYPAL even if you do not have a PAYPAL account or balance. For payments via bank transfer please contact Richelle at [email protected]

CAN I MAKE A CHANGE TO MY ORDER?

Rico Designs will make all attempts to process all orders in a timely manner. Generally by next working day but this is a guide and there may be exceptions to this rule. (i.e size of order, custom nature of an order or having many orders to process). If you need to make a change to any order, please contact Richelle at [email protected] as soon as possible to work something out. How ever if your order has already been processed, you will be unable to make any changes or cancel your order.

HOW CAN I USE A GIFT VOUCHER/PROMO CODE?

If you have purchased an online gift voucher, these have no expiry date but can only be used online, NOT to be redeemed at the markets. If you have a coupon code that has been won through a competition or promotional offer then these coupons will expire after 1 year from the date you received the coupon code.

Rico Designs cannot guarantee that the colours represented or shown on the website exactly matches the actual product.

Most items are handmade, therefore they may come with minor flaws or variations in natural materials. Each piece is made in the moment, so yours will not be exactly the same as the picture.  All attempts will be made to keep the same concept of the piece i.e. types of stones used and main feature beads of the particular style but at times beads may be out of stock and another piece will be used instead. Designs may also look different to images on site as different sizes will result in pieces being added or removed from the end product. The finished appearance will be slightly different with every piece made, making each piece more special and uniquely “yours”.

Although every effort is made to keep sufficient stock of items listed on our site, occasionally some components do sell out. If a product is out of stock at the time of purchase, you will be notified  via email. Any changes will be reflected in your order total.
